Jonathan Charles Bespoke Joinery is a family run business concentrating on premium custom carpentry and joinery. All of our products are handmade in our workshop, nestled in the heart of the Grimsthorpe Estate in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
With over 20 years experience, we offer a design, manufacture, installation and finishing service with all aspects being carried out to a high standard by our experienced team. We can provide everything from a single door to an entire bespoke kitchen offering a full design, manufacturing, installation and finishing service.
We are also very proud that all timber used by Jonathan Charles is FSC Regulated which means that for every tree felled another is planted in its place, for a sustainable future.
Jonathan Charles Bespoke Joinery is a new brand, branching out from of our other business;
Pearce Carpentry and Joinery. Jonathan Charles features the same skilled carpenters and dedicated staff, but with a focus on bespoke design and creativity.

We set up up our business with the intention to provide a reliable, fully bespoke service. Our goal is to give the customer a hassle free experience and guide them through the design and build process with as much help and advice as they require.
We encourge our customers to be fully involved in the design process to ensure that both the client and our carpenters mutually understand what is requested. We provide CAD drawings and material samples throughout the design stage.
CAD drawings to help visualise to finished product before committing to any decisions. This technology is also benefical for bugeting a project, so that there are no unexpected surprises. We only proceed with the build once you are completely satisfied with the design and price quoted.
Finally, we will finish your custom piece in any finish or treatment that you desire for optimum asethetic effect. We offer a variety of finishings; a smooth spray painted finish which is well suited to modern pieces, traditional hand painted for a timeless look or a smart oiled finish in any colour. Alternatively we are also happy to provide a bare timber if requested.

Full Service or Supply Only
If you are undertaking a new build home, converting a barn or just refurbishing a traditional property then we can also help. We can undertake a complete project; from design and install to timber supply only.
Traditional Touch
We can copy traditional mouldings on period properties, replace windows on Grade 1 or Grade 2 or 2* Listed Buildings or in Conservation Areas. We can make exact copies of the existing timberwork or simply repair existing joinery to a seamless repair.
Our workshop has extensive experience in copying traditional woodwork. Our workshop is situated in the grounds of the Grimsthorpe Estate, within view of the Castle and have been trusted with the repairs and replacement of many internal and external joinery products on the estate owned buildings.
Modern & Contemporary
Despite the old-world surroundings and period-inpired work being the backbone of our portfolio, we also enjoy working on modern properties. We enjoy creating a contemporary, ultra modern doors, windows and fittings with out clients. Modern pieces allow us to flex both the clients and our own creativity - until we come to the desired effect with a one-of-a-kind design that is unique to you and your home.
If you have an idea for a project - call us and we will be pleased to help. We enjoy a creative and technical challenge having previously completed difficult projects on wide beam barge boats, double decker busses and even playhouses.
Location is also not a restriction - We have been commissioned to work all over the country.
